Terms of Service

The service
Pliny rewrites text you send it into a clearer prompt, using Anthropic's models. It is a writing aid: you are responsible for what you do with the result, and for checking it says what you meant.
Your account
One account per person. Keep control of the Google or GitHub account you sign in with: anyone who can sign in there can use your Pliny account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
Acceptable use
Do not use Pliny to:
- Produce content that is unlawful, or that harasses or endangers someone.
- Get around the quota on your plan, including by automating requests or sharing an account.
- Resell the output as your own prompt-rewriting service.
- Probe, overload or reverse-engineer the service.
Your use also has to comply with Anthropic's usage policies, since your text is processed by their models. We may suspend an account that breaks these rules; where the breach is not serious we will tell you first.
Plans and billing
Paid plans bill monthly in advance through Stripe and renew until you cancel. Cancel any time from the billing page; your plan then runs to the end of the period you have paid for. Quota resets on your own billing date, not the first of the month, and unused enhancements do not carry over. If a payment fails your plan keeps working for three days while you fix it. We will give at least 30 days' notice before changing a price.
Availability
We aim to keep Pliny running but do not promise uninterrupted service. It depends on Anthropic's API, and an outage there is an outage here.
Liability
Pliny is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the previous twelve months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email at least 30 days before they take effect, and continuing to use Pliny after that means you accept them.
